Project Go Hub
News and Announcements
What is happening at church, in one place members can find.
News is for what is happening at church. A leader writes a post with a title and text, picks the day it starts showing, and can pick a day it stops. Leave the end date blank and the post stays up. Pin a post and it stays at the top of the page.
Posts can wait as drafts. Tick Published when a post is ready for members to see it. Leaders see a Showing now tab and a Not showing tab, where drafts, scheduled posts, and expired posts are kept with their status, so nothing is lost when a post's dates pass.
Announcements are short notes with a date, like a van going to a youth rally. The Announcements tab lists them, and anyone can search by words or by a range of dates. Leaders and the roles your church chooses can post them. Someone who can post announcements but is not a news editor can change or delete only their own.
Members read the news and announcements in the Hub, and the dashboard shows the church news too. To tell people who do not check the Hub, send a post to members as an email or a text from the post itself, and the post shows when it was sent.
News also flows into the emails the Hub sends on its own. Live news goes into the Weekly Recap, and new announcements go into the Daily Email.
Who this helps
Members
They see what is happening at church in one place, with the most important post pinned at the top. If their role allows it, they can post an announcement of their own.
Leaders
Write a post once, set when it starts and stops showing, and pin it. Send it to members as an email or a text, and the Weekly Recap and Daily Email carry it on their own.
